Trade surplus at $380mln in first half of January
Vietnam recorded total trade revenue of $29.78 billion in the first half of January, a year-on-year increase of 5.4 per cent, figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) reveal.
Exports totaled $15.08 billion, up 4.1 per cent year-on-year, while imports rose 6.8 per cent to $14.7 billion.
Vietnam therefore posted a trade surplus of $380 million in the period.
Four products recorded export value in excess of $1 billion, accounting for 53.2 per cent of the total: phones and components; electronics, computers, and components; machinery and equipment; and garments and textiles.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has set a target of 6 per cent growth in export revenue this year.
