Exports to US hit $44.4 bln in 5M
Vietnam exported products worth $44.4 billion to the US in the first five months of 2024, a significant growth of 22.3% compared to the same period last year, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
Exports to the US recorded the strongest increase among Vietnam's export markets in the five-month period.
Key exported items to the US include phones and accessories; computers, electronic products and components; machines and equipment; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts; garments and textiles; footwear; wood and wood products; cameras, camcorders and components; seafood; and rice, among many others.
The group of computers, electronic products and components topped the list of exported products with revenue of nearly $8.94 billion, skyrocketing 50% year-on-year and accounting for over 20% of the total.
It was followed by the group of machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts with $7.35 billion, up nearly 11%; and garments and textile with $5.64 billion, up 2.4%.
Total export revenue of Vietnam in the first five months reached $156.28 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%.
