Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia plan to establish a maritime route that links the islands near Thailand's Trat province with Cambodia’s Sihanoukville province and Vietnam’s southern Kien Giang province, according to the Bangkok Post.

It is aimed to push for the maritime route linking the three countries, which will create a market under the concept of "One Market, Three Destinations", the Government News has reported.

It also aims to boost trade, investment, tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism between the three countries.

Vietnam welcomed nearly 7.6 million international tourists in the first five months of 2024, up 64.9% year-on-year and 3.9%compared to the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
