Binh Duong to develop Thuan An smart city
The Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee has approved a project adjusting the master plan for Thuan An city by 2040, which is to develop into a smart and modern city.
Thuan An is defined as a large-scale industry-service urban area in the south of the southern province with a key role in connecting the urban network in the north of the province with Ho Chi Minh City.
It will have three more bridges over the Saigon River and upgrade a range of traffic routes within the city and those linking with nearby localities.
The province will focus on upgrading technical infrastructure, prioritizing more clean land plots for the development of social facilities.
The land fund, of about 1,154 hectares, along key traffic routes will be transformed to develop multi-functional projects.
Traditional urban areas such as the Lai Thieu district center, on nearly 100 ha, and areas around Bung Market, on 8.39 ha, will be upgraded towards preserving local intangible and tangible cultural identities. Commercial, services, and hospitality facilities in these areas will be developed to serve tourism development.
